One of the best wildlife-watching spots in the North East, renowned for its bird life. Right next to the beach, it offers fantastic views across the length of Druridge Bay. The reserve features an eco-friendly Wildlife Discovery Centre — a straw-bale building with innovative green features. Visitors can enjoy a circular walk and accessible trail to 2 accessible hides, 6 bird hides in total, a rubbing disc trail for kids, The Lookout Café serving snacks and refreshments, a gift shop, and picnic areas. The reserve attracts over 140 bird species a year, plus red squirrels, stoats, and otters. Family events and activities run during school holidays and some weekends. Run by Northumberland Wildlife Trust.
