Bamburgh Beach is a stunning Blue Flag sandy beach stretching beneath the iconic Bamburgh Castle on the beautiful Northumberland coastline. A popular family destination, the beach offers miles of golden sand, fascinating rock pools to explore, and breathtaking views of the castle perched on its volcanic crag.
Part of the Northumberland Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the beach is backed by the Bamburgh Dunes (a Site of Special Scientific Interest) and provides a wonderful setting for sandcastles, beach games, seaside walks, and picnics. The castle backdrop makes it one of the most photographed beaches in Britain.
Facilities in the nearby village of Bamburgh include shops, cafes, pubs, and the RNLI Grace Darling Museum. Public parking is available in the village with a short walk to the beach.
Please note: there are no lifeguards, and dogs are welcome but may be subject to seasonal restrictions on certain sections of the beach. Always check tide times before visiting.
