High Force is one of the UK's most famous waterfalls, where the full River Tees plunges 21 metres (69 feet) over a dramatic rock face. Set within the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and UNESCO Global Geopark, the waterfall can be reached via a scenic woodland walk with viewing platforms.
Managed by the Raby Estate, the site has a car park and picnic area. The walk is suitable for families with children (supervised at all times near the water).
Also nearby: Low Force waterfall, Bowlees Visitor Centre, and the Pennine Way.
