Hamsterley Forest is a 2,000-hectare forest managed by Forestry England, sprawled along the sides of a stunning sheltered valley in County Durham.
From wildlife watching to stargazing, and adventure play for all the family to exhilarating mountain biking, there is something to keep everyone busy. The forest offers an extensive network of walking trails and paths, dedicated cycling and mountain bike trails, a Go Ape high ropes course, disc golf, and a Room on the Broom themed family trail.
The Forest Café serves hot drinks and snacks daily. The forest is open dawn to dusk, with the Forest Drive open 9am-4pm weekdays and 9am-5pm weekends.
