Hardwick Park is an eighteenth century landscape park and Visit England accredited attraction in Sedgefield, County Durham. With free admission (other than car parking charges), visitors can stroll through the historic parkland admiring the eighteenth century buildings, and natural beauty of the lake, woodlands and wildlife.
The park has two designated play areas: an Infant Play Area (ages 2-7) with climbing, swinging, balancing and sensory play, and a brand-new Junior Play Area (ages 6-16) featuring a 14.5 metre play tower with two giant slides, an accessible roundabout, swings, hammocks, musical instruments and a double zip wire.
There are a number of interesting sculptures to find on walks around the park, including hand-carved wildlife sculptures on the Bright Water Sculpture Trail, and popular woodland dragon and Gruffalo sculptures.
The Tower Café offers light lunches, snacks and drinks with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the gift shop sells souvenirs and take-out refreshments. The visitor centre is fully accessible with automatic doors and a Changing Places toilet facility.
Parking charges apply (cars: up to 2 hours £3, full day £4). Three electric vehicle charging points are available.
