Drayton Manor Resort in Tamworth pairs a family theme park with a 15-acre zoo. Drayton Manor Zoo is home to more than 100 animals, including red pandas, meerkats, ring-tailed lemurs, capybaras, an Andean bear, northern lynx, gibbons and tamarins, plus reptiles, amphibians and birds - with open-plan enclosures set in calm, open spaces (just behind Tidmouth Hault) that offer a quieter moment away from the rides.
The zoo is part of the resort and covered by park admission, with animal adoption schemes, behind-the-scenes animal experiences, and conservation work supporting programmes such as the Red Panda Network, World Parrot Trust and Wildcats Conservation Alliance. The zoo is BIAZA and EAZA accredited.
Beyond the zoo, the resort offers over 50 rides and attractions including Thomas Land, plus an on-site hotel with a mini golf course (clubs and balls collected from Hotel Reception; available in daylight hours, free for annual passholders and included in hotel Stay & Play packages). As most of the experience is outside, it comes into its own when the weather's on your side.
