A nineteenth-century mansion house set within one of the world's finest gardens and a working Irish demesne. The formal gardens contain multiple individual gardens with rare plant collections grown at the on-site nursery, created in the early twentieth century by Edith, Lady Londonderry. The wider estate includes ten miles of walking trails through woodlands and mixed farmland, a natural play area themed around The Magic Inkpot, and a Squirrel Hide where you can watch red squirrels, pine martens, badgers and birds. The Temple of the Winds, an octagonal neo-classical building from 1786, stands on a rise overlooking Strangford Lough. Inside the house you'll find paintings, family treasures and elegant rooms. The tea-room serves freshly prepared food made on site.
