Clearwell Caves is a natural cave system mined for thousands of years beneath the Forest of Dean. Visitors explore show caverns filled with coloured mineral formations on a steep, uneven path with handrails. The temperature underground stays at 10 degrees year-round. On Saturdays, Deep Level excursions venture into remote caverns and passageways of the old workings for a more demanding caving experience. Seasonal activities include a Spot the Golden Coins competition for children. The Lamproom Café above ground serves cakes, snacks and hot drinks.
During the heatwave until Sunday. LIKE TURNING OFF THE HEAT – STAY COOL. Saturday 11th July 2026 we have an exciting evening performance by Isla Greenwood and One Tongue: The Hare Who Wrote The Stars.
