A medieval royal hunting forest with many miles of ancient wood banks and building remains. The 'druids', or veteran oaks, are rare wildlife habitats; some are over 600 years old. The forest has way-marked walking and running trails, a family cycling trail, adventure play areas with slides and swings, a Go Ape course, a disc golf course, and an onsite cafe serving homemade food. A Room on the Broom interactive trail winds through the woodland with themed activities and forest facts.
