Forest & Beach is an outdoor company in the South Hams, based in a private woodland and event field a short distance from Beesands beach in Start Bay. Its main offer for families is school holiday Forest Days, where children aged from Year 1 up to around 14 spend a day in the woods on activities such as den building, shelter building, campfire cooking, using tools, crafts and archery sessions. Children are supported by qualified Forest School practitioners, and the site also runs beach school sessions, birthday parties, family sessions and residential visits for schools. Because the setting is outdoors and largely woodland, it suits children who enjoy getting muddy and exploring nature. Days run through the school holidays and are booked in advance through the company's own website.
