Skern Adventure's Abbotsham centre sits in the North Devon countryside just outside Bideford and is built around high-energy outdoor activity. Children and families can try a 12-metre high ropes course, two climbing walls, a land and water assault course with slides and inflatables, archery, zip line, and mountain boarding on grass slopes. A purpose-built lake offers kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding and rafting, and the coast is close for body boarding, surfing and coastal walks. The centre also has a heated outdoor swimming pool that can be hired. Sessions are instructor-led and suited to a range of ages and abilities, and the centre runs school visits, group days and family day visits, with holiday clubs and funded programmes for children during school holidays.
