Brogdale Farm sits among the orchards on the edge of Faversham and is the home of the National Fruit Collection, a large living library of heritage apples, pears, plums, cherries, quinces and nuts. Families come for the outdoor side of the estate: wandering the orchards at their own pace, joining a guided walk where guides explain the varieties and offer tastings in season, and riding the historic miniature railway on selected days. The seasons shape the year, from the spring blossom through summer cherry and plum picking to the autumn apple harvest, and there are seasonal festivals with family activities. A courtyard café, a farm shop and a children's play park sit around the central courtyard, so younger children can burn off energy before or after the walk. Some events and workshops are aimed at adults, so check what is running before you visit.
