The Norfolk Showground is a large events complex set in 150 acres of landscaped parkland on the western side of Norwich, run by the Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association. Families tend to come for what is on rather than for permanent attractions. The venue's own listings include a family events strand, Christmas shows and festive markets, and it hosts the Royal Norfolk Show each summer. Indoor halls, including the Norfolk Events Centre and the Norfolk Food Hall with its restaurant, give shelter when the weather turns, and the open grounds suit a picnic or a wander between events. Because the site is used mostly for trade, music and community events, what is running changes from month to month, so check the events calendar before a visit to see whether a particular event suits children.
