Cryptic Escape runs real-life escape games in the centre of Norwich, with six themed rooms split across two locations. Each team is shut in a room for an hour and works through codes, hidden clues and objects to get out before time runs out. Game masters can send hints through built-in displays if a team gets stuck, and every room has a panic button for anyone who wants to leave early. Rooms range from a dungeon and an Egyptian tomb to a magic school and a mafia-themed robbery, so there is a choice of atmosphere. Teams usually have two to six players depending on the room. Younger players are welcome when they are accompanied by an adult, although some rooms carry a higher minimum age. It suits families, friends, school groups and anyone who enjoys puzzles and teamwork.
