Hoghton Tower is a historic fortified manor house on a hilltop in Lancashire, a short drive from Preston. Families can join an interactive guided tour through the house, with stories of the famous visitors it has hosted, and on some tours the secret passages and dungeons. Children can also play along the tower ramparts and explore three walled gardens unguided. The venue runs a programme of family events through the year, including spooky tours, seasonal trails and live family theatre, plus a monthly farmers' market on some dates. A tearoom serves afternoon tea and snacks. The driveway is long and steep, so arriving by car suits most families best.
Gardens closed November to March. Winter house tours on the third Sunday of each month and special tours in season.
