Lytham Windmill is a seasonal museum housed in a historic corn mill on Lytham Green, looking out over the Ribble estuary. Its exhibits cover the history of milling, the story of Lytham St Annes and the Fylde, and the town's lifeboat heritage. The mill is spread over several floors, and a separate lifeboat museum sits in the old lifeboat house right beside it. Downstairs, a tableau recreates life in Victorian Lytham, which gives younger visitors something concrete to look at. It makes a simple outing for a family, paired with a stroll along the green, the seafront or into Lytham town centre. School and group visits are welcome. The museum is run by volunteers, so opening days depend on the season and are worth checking before a trip.
