The Secret Garden is the indoor crazy golf course at The Flower Bowl Entertainment Centre, a leisure complex in Barton on the edge of Preston. The course has 18 holes set out as a greenhouse-style garden, with tree-lined paths, Japanese-style gardens, flower-filled borders and water features to putt around. The operator describes it as suitable for families and parties. Visitors are asked not to climb on the scenery or take drinks onto the course apart from water. The same complex has ten-pin bowling, a curling hall, a three-screen cinema, a golf simulator and several places to eat, so a family visit can easily cover more than the golf. Some holes have been closed for maintenance, so check ahead before travelling.

Questions parents ask

Does it work in bad weather?
The course is outdoors but equipped with a canopy which protects you from the weather, so you won't get wet if it rains. You should wear appropriate clothing and wrap up warm on chillier days.
How long should we allow?
Each game will last around 45 to 60 minutes. You should arrive a few minutes before your booking to allow time to check in.
Is there anywhere to eat?
Yes, there is a café on site. The Flower Bowl also has a restaurant and other food outlets within the entertainment centre.
Can I manage with a toddler and an older child at once?
A maximum of 5 players per group is permitted. The course does consist of some sharp corners and uneven flooring, and all under 18s must be accompanied by an adult over the age of 21 at all times.
