Kilnsey Park is a family-run estate in the Yorkshire Dales, set beneath the crag of the same name in Upper Wharfedale. Children can try catching a fish at the Family Fishing Pond, where the equipment is provided, or the spring-fed fly fishing lakes for older anglers. The Discovery Trail is a gravelled nature walk that passes friendly farm animals, red squirrels, a honeybee hive and rare wildflowers, and it includes a geocache trail that suits a treasure-hunt afternoon. The café by the lake serves food built around the estate's own trout, and there is a shop selling local produce. The main visitor area is level and suits pushchairs, while the upper part of the trail is steep and uneven. It is an outdoor day with plenty of open space for children to run about in.
Discovery Trail closed in winter; Family Fishing Pond weekends only in winter.
