A family-run farm park on the edge of Verwood, home to more than twenty rare-breed heavy horses that the park cares for and shows to visitors. Days are built around scheduled events: talks about how these horses worked alongside people for centuries, feeding time, and horse-drawn carriage rides. Younger children tend to head for the tractor and trailer rides, the pony rides and miniature pony carriage, and the play areas. There are farm animals to meet, a collection of vintage vehicles and wagons, and a country and western themed café for a break. Schools and groups are welcomed, and the park also hosts birthday parties and seasonal events. It suits families with children of most ages, and grandparents and groups visit too.
Seasonal opening, late March to end of October.
Questions parents ask
- How long should we allow for a visit?
- Most families spend around 4 hours at the park, which gives you time to see the heavy horses, explore the exhibits, enjoy the play areas, and take in the vintage vehicles.
- Is there a café, or should we bring a picnic?
- Smokey Joe's Café is on-site, a country and western themed café where you can grab meals and snacks throughout your visit.
- Which ages get the most out of it?
- The park welcomes everyone from babies through to teenagers, with daily activities, animal feeding, tractor rides, and adventure play areas suited to different ages.
- Do we need to book in advance?
- Booking is required for visits, so you'll need to arrange your visit ahead of time rather than turning up on the day.
