Newark Park is a National Trust property on the edge of the Cotswolds, built as a Tudor hunting lodge and later remodelled in the Georgian period. Families can tour the house, which has a ground-floor and first-floor layout and a second-hand bookshop, and then spend time outdoors on the wider estate. The grounds include a woodland play area, a play field with plenty of room to run, and three waymarked walks through the parkland and woods, with views over the Severn Valley. The walled garden, woodland glade and lakeside garden offer quieter stops, and there is a takeaway tea pavilion on the lawn. Seasonal family events, such as sensory trails and Christmas activities, run through the year, and dogs are welcome on short leads. Because the estate is large and paths are sloped or uneven, it suits families who enjoy walking and exploring more than a short visit to a single attraction.
Seasonal events including a family trail and Christmas activities; check the events calendar.
