The Brontë Parsonage Museum is the Georgian house where Charlotte, Emily and Anne Brontë lived for most of their lives, wrote their novels and cared for their father. Rooms are furnished to show how the family lived, and the exhibition displays manuscripts, personal belongings and artworks connected with Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights and The Tenant of Wildfell Hall. The museum sits at the top of the cobbled main street in Haworth, beside the parish church and its graveyard, so a visit combines well with a walk around the village. Older children often enjoy the story of the sisters and the chance to see real objects from the period, while younger visitors may prefer a shorter trip through the house. The museum also runs cross-curricular learning visits for school groups. Most visits take an hour or two, and the parsonage makes a good half-day outing in the Haworth area.
