The North Somerset Show is a one-day countryside event run each year by the North Somerset Agricultural Society, held on a Bank Holiday Monday in early May. It brings together livestock judging, heavy horse and pony classes, showjumping, a main ring with continuous displays, and a countryside area with blacksmiths, sheep shearing, beekeeping, gundog demonstrations and racing terriers. Families can wander the trade stands and indoor marquees, sample produce in the Food Hall, and watch demonstrations such as axemen cutting through wood. Dogs are welcome on fixed leads outside the Food Hall and livestock lines. The show suits children who enjoy animals, farm life and traditional rural crafts. It has moved from its long-standing Bathing Pond Fields site, so check the society's website for the current location before travelling.
Annual one-day show, early May. Ploughing Match is a separate event on a different date and site (Hippisley's Farm, Wick St Lawrence).
