Sheppy's is a family-run cider farm among orchards between Taunton and Wellington, where cider has been made for more than two hundred years. Visitors can wander the farm and orchards, look round the cider works and browse a rural life museum that shows the tools and machinery of farming past. Guided tours of the orchards and cider making run on set dates and usually finish with a tasting. Families can stop for a relaxed meal or a hot drink and a cake in the House of Cider, which also has a farm shop, a butcher's counter, a deli and a cheesemonger. There is parking on site, a disabled toilet near the dining room, and dogs on leads are welcome in the café and outdoor seating areas. It suits a relaxed half-day for grown-ups and children who enjoy farm life, old machinery and a good lunch out.
