The Holburne Museum sits in a Grade I listed former hotel at the end of Great Pulteney Street in Bath, beside Sydney Gardens, and is built around the collection of Sir William Holburne. Its galleries hold decorative arts such as silver, porcelain and maiolica, alongside British portraits and Renaissance pieces, with Gainsborough and Zoffany paintings on the top floor. Families can explore at their own pace, use the self-guided activity trails and discovery drawers in the galleries, and make something in the free creative space on the ground floor. The museum runs temporary exhibitions and a programme of creative workshops through the year, and the garden café opens onto the gardens. A quiet room is available on the top floor for anyone who needs a break from the galleries.
