What’s there

  • Parking

Parking is on Rotten Row next to Victoria Park, per the club's Halloween event page; the club says accessible parking is available on request. Parking type not stated.

Only facilities we’ve confirmed are listed — anything missing here we simply haven’t checked, rather than know to be absent.

Southport Model Engineering Club runs public train rides on miniature railway track beside Victoria Park in Southport. Visitors can ride behind miniature live steam and diesel battery electric locomotives on 3.5 and 5 inch gauge lines, usually on Sundays and some Saturdays when the weather allows. The club is based next to the park's playground, so families can combine a ride with time outdoors. Each year it also hosts a Halloween Ghost Train, a themed evening ride through a haunted railway that is pitched at families. The club has been running since 1979 and has a large membership of model engineers, with garden railway layouts and open days alongside the rides. Because the rides run outdoors and depend on the weather, it is worth checking the club's social media before travelling.

Regular train rides are weather dependent and run mainly on Sundays. The SMEC Ghost Train is a separate Halloween event.
