The Rumble Museum is a school museum run by the education charity The Iris Project and housed throughout Cheney School in East Oxford. It is named in memory of Jamie Rumble, a youth worker, and holds an Arts Council accredited museum status. Its collections and display cabinets are spread through the school buildings, so a visit is a compact, browsable look at objects and local history rather than a large museum trail. The museum runs workshops and events through the year aimed at the public, some museum-focused and others attached to wider community events such as a Victorian festival with costumed activities, blacksmithing demonstrations and magic shows. Families can book a tailored visit for individuals or groups during term time and holidays, and the museum is closed on bank holidays. It suits children curious about history and objects, and school-age visitors in particular.
