Cookies Island in Beckton is an indoor play centre built for young children, with separate areas so the youngest visitors are not crowded out by older ones. The soft play is split by age: a gentle zone for babies and toddlers with a ball pool, tunnels and climbing blocks, and a larger main area for older children with a maze of tunnels, bridges and slides, a vertical climbing wall and a sports zone. Parents stay with their children throughout, and there is a cafe on site where families can buy food and drink to eat in the play space. The centre runs timed play sessions through the day, so it suits a planned outing, a rainy afternoon or a children's birthday party. It also holds calmer autism-friendly sessions and has ear defenders available from reception.
