The RSA Interpretation Centre is a small exhibition housed on the site of the former Royal Small Arms Factory, a Grade II listed complex beside the Lee Navigation canal. The displays cover the factory's history from the early nineteenth century, its workers, its manufacturing technology and the rifles it produced. It is a modest museum rather than a large attraction, so a family visit suits children who enjoy industrial history, old machinery and local stories. Local schools use it as a learning resource, and the centre takes part in London Open House Weekend and Heritage Open Days, when visitors can also climb the clock tower to see the factory's turret clock. Staff can arrange object handling sessions when available. The surrounding canalside village is pleasant for a stroll afterwards, and the centre is best planned in advance because it opens mainly by arrangement or for community events.
