Free Car park - at the end of Racecourse Road, past Nottingham Racecourse and Colwick Hall Hotel (NG2 4BH) and off Daleside Road East (adjacent to the Starting Gate Public House, NG2 4DX). Car park - at River Road, off Mile End Road (NG4 2EW). This car park has a charge of £2 (cash only) and is only between the hours of 09:00 – 16:00.

Colwick Country Park spreads across two lakes — a 24 acre West Lake and a 65 acre Main Lake — set on the outskirts of Nottingham. The playground offers activities for toddlers and children up to 10 years old, with much of the equipment refurbished and reused from the previous play area. The park's wide network of paths supports walking, cycling, geocaching, orienteering, bird watching and wildlife photography. In summer, the West Lake hosts the Nottingham City Open Water Swimming Centre from April to October. Coarse fishing is permitted in several designated areas year-round or seasonally, and there is a marina with moorings.
Nottingham City Council operates its parks on a seasonal closing ladder rather than fixed hours: 16:30 in deep winter rising to 21:15 in May-August. Opening is steady year-round at roughly 8am weekdays and 9am weekends.
