The Whipple Museum of the History of Science is a free University of Cambridge museum on Free School Lane in the centre of Cambridge. Its galleries are packed with scientific instruments and models - telescopes, globes, calculating devices, microscopes and more - and there are handling objects to explore in the Learning Gallery. Drop-in family activities run in the school holidays (such as Summer Science at the Whipple), and Relaxed Opening mornings welcome children with sensory sensitivities and their families. A small, friendly, indoor museum - a good rainy-day option in Cambridge.
