Lavenham Guildhall is a wonderfully preserved medieval timber-framed guildhall in the centre of Lavenham, one of England's finest wool towns. Run by the National Trust, it tells the story of the village's wealthy cloth-trade past through its atmospheric rooms and exhibitions. Families can follow a trail around the building, hunt for history in the exhibits, and explore the pretty courtyard garden before stopping at the tearoom. Lavenham's famous medieval streets are right on the doorstep, making it a lovely stop on a family day out in Suffolk.
