Felixstowe Ferry Golf Club (founded 1880) is a historic links golf club on the Suffolk coast at Felixstowe Ferry. Families are very welcome: the club runs a thriving junior section whose aim is 'a thriving, safe and fun environment for our juniors to learn to love the game of golf'. Junior golfers enjoy regular coaching, GolfSixes inter-club matches, junior competitions, Opens, county matches and fun events such as the Festive Adult/Junior, Halloween and Easter competitions. The club is Safegolf accredited (England Golf's safeguarding standard), has its own Welfare Officer, and all adult members of the junior committee are DBS checked. It is also the training facility for the Suffolk Girls' squad.
Facilities include the Martello championship links course (18 holes), the Kingsfleet 9-hole pay-and-play academy course ideal for beginners, a state-of-the-art all-weather covered and outdoor driving range, an indoor swing studio with GC Quad launch monitor, practice chipping green and bunkers, and two putting greens. Head Professional Andrew Robinson offers individual and group coaching, including regular group beginners classes for juniors, ladies, men and mixed.
Junior green fees (under 18): from GBP 10 for 9 holes on Kingsfleet (GBP 8 with a member), GBP 20 for 18 holes (GBP 15 with a member), and GBP 30 for 18 holes on the Martello course (GBP 20 with a member). Adult green fees on the Martello course are GBP 70-120 depending on time of day and weekday/weekend. The clubhouse bar is open Mon-Sun 11am-8pm, catering Sun-Fri 9am-4pm and Sat 8am-5pm, and the pro shop is open 7 days a week. A new family-friendly cafe, Cafe 1880, is due to open in 2026.
