The National Horseracing Museum is a five-acre heritage site in the heart of Newmarket, Suffolk, made up of the National Horseracing Museum in the Trainer's House and King's Yard Galleries, the Packard Galleries of British Sporting Art in Palace House, and former racehorses to meet in the Rothschild Yard, the flagship home of Retraining of Racehorses. Kids love the interactive and audiovisual displays, the famous racehorse simulator where they can ride a winner, and the daily 'Meet the Horses' tours (11am and 2pm in summer, 12pm in winter). The galleries tell the story of racing from its earliest origins, with silks worn by Lester Piggott and Frankie Dettori, the 1791 Stud Book and a theatrical 'Sporting Glory' gallery of famous winning moments. Family events and workshops run throughout the year, and Little Hooves Soft Play offers private under-5s party hire in the John Lambton Room. The Tack Room restaurant serves locally sourced food with outdoor seating, and the gift shop is open to all visitors Tuesday to Sunday. Step-free access across the site with lifts, baby-changing facilities, and free entry for under-5s and carers. All general admission tickets are automatically upgraded to a free annual pass valid for 12 months.

Open all year, Tuesday to Sunday. Winter (1 Nov–31 Mar) 10:00–16:00; Summer (1 Apr–31 Oct) 10:00–17:00. Closed Mondays except Bank Holiday Mondays (not Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year's Day).
