Weobley Castle is a 13th-century fortified manor house raised in stages by the wealthy de la Bere family, stewards to the lords of Gower. It sits on the dramatic north Gower coast above the marshes and mudflats of the Llwchwr estuary, near Llanrhidian - a view little changed in 700 years. The grand hall, guest chambers and lord's solar speak of an elegant high-society home, while the watchtower and crenellated walls show its defensive side. The castle is relatively flat with a few short steps into a small exhibition space, making it easy to explore. Cadw-run site with gift shop, picnic tables and toilets in the farmhouse garden. Children under 5 go free and family tickets are available.

Open 1 Apr-31 Oct 09:30-18:00; 1 Nov-31 Mar 09:30-17:00. Closed 24-26 Dec and 1 Jan.
