A 230-acre nature reserve in Derbyshire combining woodland, heathland and a man-made reservoir. The site hosts over 350 species of moths and 200 types of birds, and includes Carver's Rocks, a scheduled Site of Special Scientific Interest. Walking trails range from a 2.5km multi-use bridleway on compacted stone to woodland paths, with access onto the National Forest Way. There's a play area, picnic benches by the refreshment kiosk, and dogs are welcome on leads around facilities and the bridleway. One of the last patches of lowland heath in Derbyshire survives here, and Exmoor ponies now graze to support biodiversity.
Kiosk open year-round serving light refreshments.
