Theddlethorpe Dunes is part of Saltfleetby-Theddlethorpe Dunes National Nature Reserve, a 951-hectare coastal reserve between Mablethorpe and Saltfleet on the Lincolnshire coast. The larger part (556 hectares) is a statutory National Nature Reserve managed by Natural England, with areas managed by Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust. The reserve contains tidal sand and mudflats, salt and freshwater marshes and wide sand dunes, with a sandy beach at the southern end. Families can explore walking trails through the dunes, go beachcombing on the shore and look for wildflowers such as bee and pyramidal orchids, plus birds including shelduck and redshank. An easy access trail with display boards runs through Rimac. Most of the reserve is open to the public; please keep out of signed sanctuary areas. Dogs are not permitted (assistance dogs only).
