A 10 acre fellside garden on the shores of Lake Windermere with views over the lake and surrounding fells. The Walled Garden contains herbaceous borders, island beds, and spring bulbs. The gardens hold six National Plant Collections — Astilbe, Daboecia, Meconopsis, Polystichum, Hosta and Tanacetum coccineum — as well as a Lakeland Collection of Hydrangea. Rhododendrons and alpines are among the plantings. New accessible paths have been laid across the fellside, opening up further areas of the gardens to explore.
Gardens open all year round, dawn to dusk. Visitor Information manned by volunteers April-October only.
