Tehidy Country Park is the largest area of woodland in West Cornwall. Managed by Cornwall Council, the park covers around 250 acres of peaceful woods and lakes with over 9 miles (14.5km) of colour-coded walking and cycling paths.
The main entrance at South Drive has free parking, toilets and a café serving fresh local food, with level, pushchair-friendly paths around the lake - the easiest starting point for families with young children. The lakes are a wildlife haven for ducks, swans and dragonflies, while the woods are home to red squirrels, roe deer and a huge variety of fungi and birds.
More adventurous families can follow the stream to Otter Bridge, explore the ancient Oak Woods, or take the North Cliffs circular walk (the pink trail) for the famous spring bluebell display. There are also cycle routes and links to the Mineral Tramways Tehidy Trail towards Portreath.
Dogs are welcome on the woodland routes (the lake circular walk is a no-dog area). Free car parks at South Drive, East Drive and North Cliffs, plus a picnic area, toilets and a seasonal café. The park is free to enter all year round.
