Staunton Harold Reservoir

Staunton Harold Reservoir is a 210-acre reservoir in the heart of the National Forest on the Derbyshire-Leicestershire border, managed in partnership by Severn Trent and the National Trust, who run the day-to-day visitor site experience. Families can enjoy wildflower meadows, woodland walks and open water, with a waterside adventure playground as part of the National Trust's '50 things to do before you're 11 3/4' activities. The dog-friendly cafe serves light refreshments and hot and cold drinks year-round, and there are picnic benches, toilets and Changing Places at the visitor facilities. A wheelchair-friendly 2.5km wildflower walk follows the reservoir bank on a crushed stone surface with no steep slopes. The site is home to Staunton Harold Sailing Club, and the reservoir is an important habitat for wildlife and bird watching. Entry is free; car parking is pay and display (6 pounds all day / 3.50 pounds up to 4 hours, free for National Trust members).
