Parkhurst Forest is one of the oldest forests in the country, made up of ancient woodland and open heath grassland and managed by Forestry England on the Isle of Wight, around half a mile northwest of Newport off the A3054 (Forest Road).

There are miles of walking trails to explore, from an easy-access trail suitable for buggies and little legs to quieter muddy paths for older adventurers, plus a network of gravel tracks where cycling is permitted - the forest sits on the Red Squirrel Trail. Horse riding is also allowed on the gravel tracks from May 2025.

The forest is a haven for wildlife, with red squirrels and a host of birds including garden warbler, nightjar, woodcock, green and great spotted woodpecker and long-eared owl. There is a picnic area for family lunches, dogs are welcome, and entry and parking are both free. The forest is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
