Arreton Barns is the Isle of Wight's largest arts and crafts centre, set in the countryside at the heart of the island. Wander through a cluster of artisan studios and shops featuring glass blowers, ceramicists, silversmiths, leathercraft and encaustic art, plus a traditional sweet shop that is 'every little (and big) kid's dream'. Kids will love Creaturama's exhibition of over 30 recycled-material alien and dinosaur models (of Blue Peter and CBeebies fame), and families can explore the grounds with their historic carp pond, village green and 12th-century church. Entry and parking are free, and the on-site pub The Dairyman's Daughter serves home-cooked food all day.
