Quay Arts is the Isle of Wight's leading art gallery and venue for live arts events, based in a converted 19th-century brewery warehouse complex at the head of the River Medina in the centre of Newport. Refurbished in 1997 by award-winning architect Tony Fretton, it features two galleries, a 134-seat theatre, a unique gift shop and a popular Cafe Bar known for home-cooked food. The centre runs a year-round programme of courses and workshops for all ages, including dedicated Kids Art and Youth Art sessions, plus exhibitions, theatre, comedy, music and film screenings. Galleries are free to browse and the centre is open daily 9am-4pm, with the theatre hosting evening events. Quay Arts is a registered charity.
