West Wight Alpacas is a trekking and alpaca and llama stud farm set within 23 acres of picturesque countryside in the village of Wellow on the Isle of Wight, home to a herd of rare Suri alpacas and llamas. Visitors can book alpaca and llama walking experiences, with knowledgeable guides leading walks past the birthing field and up to spectacular views over the Solent, with photo and feeding opportunities at the end. Children aged 5 and over can walk an alpaca or llama on a double lead with an adult; children must be 8 or over to lead an animal, and all under-13s must be accompanied by a paying adult. The farm is home to pygmy goats, pigs, ducks, turkeys, rabbits, guinea pigs and donkeys too, with baby animals through the year. There is a shop stocking alpaca-themed gifts, yarn and knitwear, and visitors are welcome to bring a picnic. Farm visits are free entry when booked with a walking activity; otherwise standard farm entry applies.
