Vogrie Country Park is a woodland country park near Gorebridge in Midlothian, managed by Midlothian Council. Families can explore 11.5 miles of signed paths through woodlands and the Tyne Valley, with routes to suit all abilities. Highlights include a large adventure playground, a separate toddler playground, picnic areas, open lawns, a wildflower meadow, sculptures and orienteering courses. The cafe at Vogrie House serves visitors, and the park's Countryside Ranger Service offers environmental education sessions including pond dipping and mini-beast hunting. The Bubbling Toad, a fantasy-themed family attraction, is also based at Vogrie House. Entry to the park is free, with daily parking charged at £3 per vehicle. The park is open every day of the year; gates open at 7.30am and close at times that vary by season.
Gates locked at 6pm Nov-Mar, 8pm Apr-May, 10pm Jun-Aug, 8pm Sep-Oct. The park closes early when wind speeds or gusts are forecast at 45mph or over, reopening one hour after winds drop below this.
