Bellarena Beach

Bellarena Beach forms part of Benone Strand, one of the longest beaches in Northern Ireland stretching seven miles along the Causeway Coast between Castlerock and the Magilligan peninsula. This beautiful sandy beach with dunes offers stunning views across Lough Foyle to the Inishowen peninsula in County Donegal. The beach is a recipient of the European Blue Flag Award and Seaside Award, making it a safe and clean family destination. Facilities in the nearby Benone area include free car parking, a leisure complex, golf course, tennis courts, and caravan parks. Benone Strand is Northern Ireland's first fully inclusive beach, with specialist beach-access equipment for limited-mobility users (pre-booking via the Mae Murray Foundation). The strand is popular for walking, swimming, sandcastle building, self-guided SUP and kayaking, and enjoying the panoramic coastal scenery; zoned activity areas cover swimming, watersports and dog exercise. Seasonal RNLI lifeguards patrol in July and August. Bellarena railway station on the Belfast-Derry line provides easy access.
