Broughty Ferry Beach is a popular Blue Flag sandy beach located in the suburb of Broughty Ferry, four miles east of Dundee city centre. The beach is staffed by lifeguards during summer months. Adjacent to the beach is Castle Green park with a recently renovated playpark featuring maritime-themed climbing frames, a paddling pool, water features, children's go-karts and crazy golf. Free parking is available by the beachfront. Dolphins can often be seen in the Tay estuary from the beach.
Seasonal lifeguards in summer (beachguide.co.uk). Dogs not allowed on western beach area 1 May-30 September; eastern beach dog-friendly all year. Kiddicars (pedal go-karts) on the Esplanade April-October (Dundee City Council).
