Nairn is a classic Scottish seaside resort with two extensive beaches on the Moray Firth. The East Beach is predominantly golden sand backed by dune vegetation, while the West Beach has rocky sections becoming sandier towards the river mouth. The town has a promenade, putting green, two golf courses, a community centre with arts venue, a small theatre, and a museum. Nairn Beach offers rock pooling, beach walks, paddling and stunning coastal views across to the Black Isle and the Sutherland mountains beyond. The town is around 17 miles east of Inverness in the Scottish Highlands.
