On the southern edge of Warminster, it can be reached by walking through Warminster Pleasure Grounds from Weymouth Street, or from the car park in Smallbrook Road.

A 20-hectare reserve divided into two areas, with six small water meadows, wet woodland, marsh, ponds, chalk rivers, hedgerows and ditches. The site is flat and easy to reach, with pushchair and wheelchair access. Spring and summer are the best times to visit: late spring brings white and pink cuckooflowers, followed by ragged robin, water avens, marsh marigold, yellow iris, and pink-purple southern marsh-orchid flowers. Summer also brings dragonflies and damselflies, including banded demoiselles. Water voles—the UK's most endangered mammal—use the reserve, as do water rails and occasionally kingfishers. In late summer you can spot metallic-green leaf beetles on water mint plants. The meadows are grazed with cattle to protect and improve the habitats for wildlife.
