Chippenham Museum is housed in an 18th-century townhouse and tells the story of this historic market town from its prehistoric origins to the present day. Exhibits explore the town's development through its connections to river, road, and rail, and include art collections reflecting the area's creative legacy. The medieval Yelde Hall opens on select summer mornings, where you can meet costumed characters from the town's past, including pirates from 1709 in the lock-up.
