The Church in St Werburghs (Bristol) is one of the UK's first indoor climbing centres - walls up to 12m with top-ropes, lead and auto belays, two warm-up bouldering spaces and a training zone. Its cafe with a mezzanine viewing area serves locally roasted coffee, savouries and sweet treats. No booking needed for competent climbers - just turn up and hire kit at reception. Under 16s must be supervised by a registered adult (max two per adult); there are some restrictions for under 8s.
